Design Ritual into Modern Product: A Case Study of Chinese Bronze Ware

Bronze wares make up some of the most important bronze artifacts in ancient China’s Xia, Shang and Western Zhou dynasties. They carry rich historical, cultural artistic information. In order to enable modern people reflect on through products, an research topic that must be considered is how out innovative designs with ware add value development creative industries so as promote sustainable development. This study puts forward a framework for design ware. Based analysis relevant cases, such purple copper antique wine vessel, “Qing Niao” (“Blue Bird”) asking love cup HIBIKI glass, summarizes strategy transformation From perspectives functional attributes, symbols, identity emotional resonance, finally proposes three ideas: antiqued design, simplified reconstructed design. The presents model which still needs verified future studies. We hope can integrate principles sustainability into relics.
